555 blog 3

Well I have made good use of our time off in the last couple of weeks and I feel like I have the course work under control. I have been crazy busy with our semester car projects at school and I feel like we are way behind, but I think every spring goes like that. This week I tackled the 3.1 culminating experience proposal and I must say that it was very frustrating at the start because I did not have a clue where I was going, but now I am looking forward to 599. I think I have a great proposal and a good project to put into my classwork and classroom. I am going to explore the Auto Repair Reference Center which is an online resource for automotives. It is full of information on vehicle repair and it will be a great tool for my students. I feel like the end is near for us, but yet so far away!

  1. Congratulations on making more progress on your proposal and portfolio. I finally was able to do the same this week. I would love to hear more about your proposal, it sounds like a great plan and something that you are interested in.

  2. Jay,

I will be curious to hear more about your project. So will you be teaching your students how to use the reference center, or turning them loose to supplement what is taught in class? Is this a pay site? Either way, it sounds like a cool site.
I am amazed how we find the time to get anything accomplished in this program. It always seems like the busiest times of the year fall around the biggest projects for grad class. It is equally amazing how we somehow find a way to get it all done. This year has been a blur, and it will be nice to catch our breath at the end of summer. :)

I think the online portion will be great for the automotive students. I can't wait to see the different options/content that you provide the students, because as a fellow automotive teachers, I like looking for ways to incorporate the online environment. I have some programs and websites available that might help you if you get in a bind, let me know.
