535 wk 4

This is kind of an interesting week for me. I am crazy busy right now at school and with my personal life and I was dreading even starting our homework this week. As you may notice I always post my blog by at the latest Friday afternoon and here we are Saturday morning. Might not seem like a big deal, but for me its crazy. I am excited to start my Ning, I finally made the desicion and I am ready to get started. I also found screencasting to be really cool. It is something that I had done once a long, long time ago and forgot how to even do. I used ScreenCastle and it was AWESOME! Really easy to use and I recorded the steps to setting up a blogger account. I plan to use this screencast shortly when I get my kids ready to start blogging. I also thought the conversation about crowdsourcing was interesting and I was really interested in the R&D innocentive site. This week was very busy, but very useful for me.

  1. Crowdsourcing for me was also interesting and also eye opening. It was interesting to learn how many people and the amount of money is spent on R&D when someone on the internet can solve a problem for much less than an R&D department spends.

  2. Hey Jay - I know what you mean about being busy and crazy. I too am always pleasantly surprised when I actually get going on our weekly work. I end up being totally engrossed and then tend to drop the other responsibilities. I thought the crowdsourcing article was good - not because it necessarily described anything new, but because I had never thought of there actually being a term for what the article described. Isn't it funny how we just take some things for granted without realizing the impact? I never thought about the concept of crowdsourcing and how it could have both positive as well as negative consequences for everyone. I also really, really liked the screencasting. I'm glad you liked the whatever-Castle one. I used Jing and thought that too was very easy and fun. Can't wait to create many more projects with it.
